This film documents the atomic bomb tests at Bikini Island in the Pacific. First you get to see a test bomb explode above the water. Then in the next test you watch as an underwater bomb explodes. The military actually brought pigs and goats to the site to test the effects of radiation. The film is a somewhat disturbing yet fascinating look at the first atomic weapons ever detonated.

A Tale of Two Cities

The echoes of the supersonic boom emanating from the first ever nuclear detonation over Hiroshima has hardly died before residents of Nagasaki met with a similar fate just three days later. Japan was never the same again. While it lasted, this unimaginably cruel wakeup call, which completely obliterated two cities, was unbearably shocking. Supporters of the bomb, however, continue to advocate the theory that nothing less impacting than the bomb would have ended World War II. Few had to die so that many could live.
This amazing historic DVD presents the original footage of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, both from the air and from the ground as well. Heart-wrenching scenes of death and destruction meet your eyes so forcefully that you feel compelled to side with the detractors of the bomb. Graphic images of utter and total devastation tell a story that was retold for generations through genetically affected children.
The DVD also provides a ringside view of the tests that preceded the dropping of the bombs. The inclusion of pigs and goats onboard the test vessel speaks of careful planning and farsightedness of American scientists. It also underlines the significant fact that the dropping of the A-Bomb was a carefully planned U.S. strategy. One memorable record in this DVD is that of the formation of the United Nations and the intervention of this newly formed organization in Korea.
Witness one of the most impacting moments in the history of World War II – the devastation of two flourishing cities and the immeasurable power of a nuclear devise. This surely is the most stunning footage of the bombing and if you wish to know what brought World War II to an end, add this fabulous DVD to your collection today!
"After years of debate, I have not been able to justify the use of the atom bomb, yet for sheer technical brilliance, the clips on this DVD are worth a watch. It’s really a rare treat to watch these nuclear killers being carried over the target area and then dropped with such precision. Oh, try catching Americans doing things in halves! "

"It was a wonderful afternoon that we spent viewing these WW II newsreels. Grandpa was a part of the U.S. troops that fought in the Pacific sector and it was thrilling to catch some action from that part of the world. Great set of clips. I enjoyed them."
