In Puerto Rico, the weather's warm year-round, the ocean water is heavenly, and the need for a passport to visit is nil for US citizens. While the islands are Americanized, they also still retain their Hispanic culture. So, come on, let's discover Puerto Rico with travel pro Laura McKenzie!
First, Laura will take us to San Juan, one of the largest natural harbors in the Caribbean. Take a step back in time in Old San Juan, the historic district dotted with picturesque colonial buildings. Aside from the incredible history, you’ll discover duty free shopping, great Spanish/Caribbean food, and the island’s very own rum!
To really explore the city, take an old fashioned carriage ride to many popular spots including City Hall, the Governor’s Mansion, and the major plazas.
Laura takes an unforgettable tour of the “Castillo de San Felipe del Morro," one of Puerto Rico's most impressive sites. This 16th century fortress stands guard over the Bay of San Juan. On the tour, get a glimpse of the majestic San Juan cathedral, the first church on the island.
Finally, venture with Laura to fun locations, like the Bacardi Rum Distillery where she samples some local spirits. Then, see one of the islands greatest natural wonders: the Rio Camuy (kahm-wee) Cave Park, the 3rd largest cave system in the world!
Anyone who spends a few days in this tropical paradise will have the time of their life. Great beaches. Beautiful weather. Perfect location. That’s Puerto Rico.
