This body of water separates the Baja California Peninsula from the Mexican mainland. It is bordered by the states of Baja California, Baja California Sur. Sonora, and Sinaloa with a coastline of approximately 4,000 km (2,500 mi.)
Our hosts are Dora and Francisco (Lolo) Sandoval, owners of the luxurious 110 foot long Rocio Del Mar liveaboard, based out of Rocky Point. It’s the only liveaboard based on the Sea of Cortez. The Sea of Cortez season is from the end of June until the end of October every year.
It’s here we snorkel with whale sharks in the emerald waters off the coast, dive with sea lions, and view one of the largest pods of dolphins ever, churning up the ocean surface.
