A mile deep and ten miles wide- it is one of the most awesome natural features on our planet. Beginning with the rising curtain of sunlight that illuminates it's mile deep walls each morning, this canyon comes alive with creatures large and small: mountain lions, mule deer, coyotes, bighorn sheep, desert tortoises, scorpions, lizards, and the rare Kiabab squirrel! Descending into the Canyon by mule, a summer lightening storm, rafting the Colorado River, ghosts of the Ancient Ones- The Anasazi, and a flash flood are all here. Shaman's Gallery, thought to predate the time of Christ and never before filmed, is also shown. A mountain lion stalks and pursues mule deer, the king snake captures a cactus mouse, and desert shrimp mysteriously hatch in a pond that has been dry for months. For two decades, Dale Johnson and Bill Bacon have captured images of the natural world;producing in-depth portraits of the places where they take their cameras: Alaska, Yellowstone, Caribbean, Italy, Central America, Tibet and Sweden.
