Dave travels to Porterville, CA to enjoy a festival of color among acres of blooming Iris. The Sutton family has spent over 20 years developing new Iris hybrids, many with re-blooming characteristics for gardens across the country as well as for the Porterville Iris Festival. In this episode, Dave becomes lost in a Maze Garden at the Morton Arboretum while having fun exploring the winding halls of Yew that comprise the Maze. Each route leads to one of seven distinct garden rooms created from fine hardy plants. The Maze Garden can be viewed from above on the overlook crafted around a magnificent 60-foot tall Sycamore tree. The Maze, along with the beautiful Children's Garden is the newest horticultural attraction at the Morton, which also includes a huge collection of hardy trees and shrubs spread across the vast property in suburban Chicago. Visit the theme gardens, a stunning environmentally sensitive Visitor's Center, research library, herbarium and enjoy the many ongoing educational activities year round on your visit to the Morton Arboretum.
