An Overland Adventure with Grant Foster
The vast country of Australia has many descriptions. The world's largest island, the smallest and flattest continent and the "wonder down under." But above all, it is an " Amzaing Australia."
To discover what makes it so, New Zealand filmmaker Grant Foster travelled overland on a "four month camera safari" to capture his visual impressions of its rugged scenic beuaty, friendly people and its uniquely wondrous wildlife.
Hightlights of "Amazing Australia" include: - Sightseeing the city of Sydney, its Opera House and unforgettable harbor.
- Visiting the other major cities of Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart, Perth, Darwin and the nation's capital of Canberra.
- Diving at the Great Barrier Reef, the largest living thing on earth.
- Riding a camel and vintage outback train at remote Alice Springs.
- Digging in the desert for the opal, the world's most colorful gemstone.
- Cruising the Murray River by PaddleSteamer, and riding a tram in Melbourne.
- Exciting encounters with koalas, kangaroos and jumping crocodiles.
- Climbing Ayers Rock for a breathtaking view of the Red Center.
- Walking amid the Olgas, the most ancient mountains on earth.
