'Andes: Conquistadors' brings the viewer to the Pacific Coast city of Arequipa, nicknamed La Ciudad Blanca, because of the volcanic white stone used in the construction of the city's buildings. We visit the enchanting main square with its white cathedral, several other churches and old houses and we take our time to visit the famous Convento de Santa Catalina, well-known in the entire South America.
It was nicknamed Monasterio Misteriosa, for many years very few knowing what really happened behind its walls. Founded as a monastery for the upper class Spanish girls, it has beautiful alleys and quarters, a stroll behind its surrounding walls being a real treat. Further we go for a short visit to Lima, Peru 's capital, where we visit among several other interesting places, the Museum of Inquisition, San Francisco monastery with its crypt containing hundreds of skulls, and the cathedral, housing the tomb of Francisco Pizzaro, the adventurer that changed the history of the Inca Empire and the entire South America.
