As if that isn’t enough, Cappy’s daughters, Frankie ( Mary Brian) and Ellen ( Phyllis Barry),wish to marry against his wish. This is all Cappy can take. Nobody suspects that the wily Cappy has a very different plan in mind!

Running Time:57 Minutes MPAA Ratings: NR (Suitable for Children)

EDITORIAL REVIEW:

"This movie from the ‘30s has an unusual plot - a father marooning his young daughters on a lonely, uninhabited Pacific island just to putsome sense into their pretty heads! The portrayal of the daughters is done with a lot of sensitivity and is quite realistic. Their refusal tomarry the chaps they were originally engaged to is quite characteristicof young girls who are easily swayed by glamour and riches. The family’s sojourn on the island is filled with humorous episodes and some emotional moments when Matt Peasley and Will Peck try to win backtheir ladyloves. The role of an old sea dog seems to have been written with Walter Brennon in mind, and he carries his part as captain and domineering patriarch pretty well. Georgia Caine’s portrayal of aprotective and dominating parent has a true-life quality about it and also generates a few laughs. Sometimes emotional and sometimes humorous, the movie keeps you engrossed throughout its viewing. The scenes showing the sailboat "Gloria Ricks" riding the waves proudly is evidence of the outstanding abilities of Ralph Staub as a director. Don’t miss this hilariously philosophical movie, which will keep you fascinated and amused till the end!"

USER REVIEWS:

Well, you certainly could not make this movie today. The feministswould go nuts. I have never seen anything so sexist and so funny at thesame time! The entire point of the film seems to be that everyone knowsthat women have no mind of their own and need men to make them happy.

I kid you not! This is the plot - a father wants his three daughters to marry these guys he's picked out. They say no, so hekidnaps them and sticks them on a deserted island until "they come to their senses."

What's truly bizarre is that his plan works!

When they say "they don't make films like they used to" I think they were refering to this movie! written by Ejaz
