A German officer’s club in Shanghai houses a clique of top Nazi bigwigs (ably played by Gordon Richards, Frederick Giermann and Arno Frey) who are entrusted with the protection of an ingenious invention of mass destruction - a cosmic ray generator that is 1000 times more deadly than nuclear weapons. The targets - all countries ranged against Nazi Germany and the overtly allied Japanese Empire. Japanese officer Col. Noyoma (Richard Loo) is aware of this and wants in on the deal, but Col. Von Meyer has no intentions of letting him have it. As a diversionary ruse, a group of attractive women captured from the targeted countries is ordered to entertain a delegation of Japanese Army officers under the eagle eyes of Frau Thaler (Bernadene Hayes) on the night that the secret weapon is to be demonstrated.
However, the Nazis have not factored in the individual perceptions of the mercenary Frenchwoman Yvette Aubert (Tala Birell) , the fiercely patriotic Chinese Li Ling (Frances Chung) , the incorruptible character of American Claire Adams (Virginia Christie) - or the astuteness of their Japanese allies. With this classic film of drama, intrigue, courage and sacrifice, A2ZCDS gives you on DVD an action-packed tour de force that builds up to a truly explosive climax...

MPAA Ratings: Approved
"Director and co-scripter William Rowland gives full rein to his flair for the dramatic in this timelessly appealing war thriller. The atrocities that women were subjected to in occupied countries is portrayed with great feeling. ‘Women in the Night’ is a moving and enthralling account of how victimized women held their own with courage and dignity while faced with impossible odds. This evergreen classic, now on DVD from A2ZCDS, weaves an enthralling tale of suspense, romance, intrigue and ultimate sacrifice."
"If you’ve never associated the saying "When the going gets tough, the tough get going" with women, see this gem of a movie from the last century (‘Women in the Night’). It showcases our tougher properties like no other film I’ve seen in a long time. This movie is a credit to director William Rowland as well as to every woman who has ever wanted to rise above the weary label ‘the weaker sex’."

"’Women in the Night’ is truly entertaining. I also found it a laudable depiction of the courageous women who found themselves sucked into the complicated issues of World War II. Tala Birell is outstanding in her playing a wanton woman who makes good, and William Henry is debonair and inventive in what must have been a difficult role. A2ZCDS, you’ve picked a live one here."
