This program prepares travelers for an expedition to Ecuador's Galapagos Islands by combining outstanding visual images of Galapagos plants and animals with a description of the islands' natural history and unique ecosystems. As we visit the life zones found in the islands, we observe such fascinating creatures as Galapagos tortoises, land and marine iguanas, colorful small lizards, and a vast assortment of birds from tiny Darwin finches to a huge nesting albatross. The video concludes with an account of human presence in the islands from Darwin's visit to the tourism of today.
