One of the first things a visitor notices about Bahia Honda State Park is Henry Flagler's old bridge. The park offers the best natural white sand beaches in the Keys, overnight camping and many opportunities to experience the "Real Florida".
Name by Spanish explorers, Bahia Honda means "deep bay", which is what surrounds the old bridge. Locals pronounce it "Bay-Ah Honda". The state park is a true Florida treasure which offers a wide variety of outdoor activities. Visitors may paddle their way around the island, don a snorkel and explore an undersea wonderland, walk a nature trail into a rare tropical hardwood hammock, or just kick-back on one of Bahia Honda's three natural sand beaches.
