In this adventure, we cruise on a small ship (that carries just 84 passengers and a crew of 17) to some of New England ’s most beautiful island ports. The first stop, Cuttyhunk, with just a quarter mile of paved roads, offers a glimpse of the natural beauty of these North Atlantic islands. Next we explore Martha's Vineyard, from the famous Black Dog Tavern to the historic Flying horses Carousel at Oaks Bluff. We tender into Nantucket, with its cobblestone streets and rich whaling history, to learn how the Nantucket basket came into being. Soon we're at Block Island's Old Harbor, gateway to the Great Salt Pond, lighthouses, and spectacular Victorian hotels. We dock at fort Adams in Newport for a front row look at 4th of July fireworks. We also tour Marble House, one of Newport's famed Gilded Age cottages, and the international Tennis Hall of Fame and Museum. There are ocean views, music, and an exploration of the ship, from the bridge to the galley. Small ships offer a special way of cruising America’s Waterways... and the country that grew along their shores.
