Kings have been "Tip-toeing through Tulips" since the 16th century. Many years later (circa 1930 AD) a Dutchman started raising precious Tulip bulbs in the Skagit Valley of Washington State. This special region provides a mild climate, evenly distributed rainfall and fertile farmland creating an ideal environment for raising Tulips. This visually stunning and informative video showcases the magnificent Tulip in its most exquisite forms and colors. It also takes a look at the hard work that goes into preparing Tulips for market as well as exploring the seasonal process of bulb farming. In the fall - planting and fertilizing;in the spring - gorgeous flower displays and harvesting;and in the summer - bulbs are dug up to be cleaned, sorted and stored for replanting in early fall to continue the cycle of bulb cultivation. Viewers will also visit the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival which has taken on major county fair proportions and has become a "Rite of Spring" for the entire region. Each April, hundreds of acres of blooming fields resembling a "gorgeous explosion of color" attract nearly a half million visitors from all over the world.
