Music from the TV Series
The music of Globe Trekker is an eclectic blend of field recordings from locations in the series and the inspired work of the composers, whose backgrounds range from cool jazz, punk, electro pop, ambient and classical. The Globe Trekker (also known as Pilot Guides) TV shows have become the most popular travel shows in the world over the last decade, inspiring many to explore the wonders of this diverse place we call Earth. The order of the tracks was carefully chosen to take the listener on an ambient journey of the spirit, interweaving elements from the GLOBE TREKKER: ORIGINAL JOURNEYS CD. Join us on a unique journey from steamy Central American jungles, through memories of Morocco to red Brazilian deserts, utilising a glorious collection of global sounds from Javanese Gamalan to Techno ambience. Includes the original track which inspired the Globe Trekker theme tune, by Ian Ritchie. THE TELEVISION SERIES
The Pilot Guides programmes, or Globe Trekker, as they are known in different parts of the world, have become the most watched travel shows in the world over the last decade, inspiring many people to explore the wonders of this diverse place we call Earth. THE MUSIC The music of Globe Trekker is an eclectic blend of field recordings from locations in the series and the inspired work of the composers, whose backgrounds range from cool jazz, punk, electro pop, ambient and classical. Michael Conn’s career has spanned being a virtuoso classical guitarist signed to Decca right through to working on pop and dance hits. Ian Ritchie has produced Roger Waters and Laurie Anderson, plays Jazz saxophone and various ethnic instruments. Stephen Luscombe was a member of eighties chart stars, Blancmange and with the brilliant Indian percussionist, Pandit Dinesh created the ethno-dance and trance production team The West India Company. Paul Inder joined them in this project on guitar. The order of the tracks was carefully chosen to take the listener on an ambient journey of the spirit, interweaving elements from the GLOBE TREKKER ORIGINAL JOURNEYS CD. Tracklisting: 1.
