Journey to the paradise of Maui and the majestic Big Island of Hawaii. A magnificent island with different scenery around every turn. From its big volcanoes and rolling hills to its winding coastline, lined with beautiful sand beaches and that gorgeous Hawaiian water. The minute you set foot on the island, you'll know you have discovered what many people call paradise. The second largest of the Hawaiian islands, Maui is actually known as the valley isle. It gets its name for the large fertile valley that lies between the two volcanoes that make up the two sides of this majestic island. With plenty of coves and reefs to explore, you can see some of the most amazing sea life just by putting on a mask and fins. It's fantastic. Once you're finished getting your feet wet, there's one way to dry off. Let the wind do it. You'll be up early with the time change, and that's the best time to take a bike ride down the volcano. You will be driven up, but it's up to you to get down. And if you can't remember the last time you rode a bike, don't worry, you will remember.
No trip to the Big Island is complete without visiting Pele, the goddess of the volcano. And the place to find her is Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It's located on the south side of the island. And if you are coming from the Kohala Coast, you'll need give yourself a couple of hours to get here. But the drive is definitely worth it. And there are some pretty interesting sights along the way, including something you won't find anywhere else in the world.
