In this program we feature a bush poetry competition in honor of the famous Australian bush balladeer Banjo Paterson. As locals of Winton use their sharp wit to entertain the audience with original odes. We get a stockwhip demonstration from a master. This champion shows us the “snake killer”, a stagger and even how to play rhythms as he whips up a storm. The Two Tims bask in the colorful spectacle of the historic Melbourne Cup at Flemington Race Course. They may not win the best dressed competition, bet on the winning horse or be invited into the VIP area, where the champagne flows freely however, as usual, they are the life of the party at Australia’s biggest party, the Melbourne Cup. The skeleton of an Orca called Old Tom, in Eden’s Whale Museum, is luckily not the only whale on display in this coastal town. We see research scientists capturing images of humpback whales’ flukes as they study the habits of these amazing creatures.
